Attie & the Sister Missionaries

Tonight we had the Sister Missionaries over again for another lesson. My heart is overwhelmed with the teachings my children got to be apart of tonight. I have this big Christus in my house and we put it down on the hearth of the fire place. The Sister Missionaries (Falcon, Powers), taught Attie, and reiterated what we have taught her about the steps it takes to make it to live with our Saviour Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father.

First, they had her take a big jump. Of course, she didn't make it to the Christus. Then they began to set down the steps it takes to Live with him again. And I wanted to share them with you:

1-FAITH

2-REPENTANCE-We have to recognize our sorries :)

3-BAPTISM-This is so crucial. This is the door that is unlocked to the windows of Heaven. This begins the process to living with Heavenly Father again. This is the KEY. Children under the age of 8 do not need baptism-they are innocent and clean. But when they turn 8, they are capable of understanding right from wrong-Baptism was so important that even Jesus Christ was baptised to set the perfect example for us.

4-THE GIFT OF THE HOLY GHOST-Everyone is capable of receiving this gift. This is such an important gift from our Heavenly Father. He wants all his children to have it.

I loved the next steps the missionaries taught because sometimes all we think about are the above 4 but there is more:

5-FAITH-we must continue to excercise faith

6-REPENTANCE-yep, we continue to do this too-We aren't perfect yet.

7-SACRAMENT-the sacrament allows us to be baptised over again, week after week. We get to wash our sins away every week. Yep, we get to try again..

8-PRAY-we must pray to Heavenly Father and seek his counsel and guidance

9-SCRIPTURES-we must read the word of GOD

10-KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS-

These are the steps to come closer to Christ. I am so thankful for all of these things. I am thankful Attie has a desire to be baptised and that her Father is willing & worthy to do so.  We aren't perfect but we can strive everyday to be a better follower of the Saviour, Jesus Christ. I have had 3 children baptised before Attie and for some reason this one is just as special as all the other three were.  I am so blessed and feel so grateful for the scriptures.  Many times we say "Oh, I wish these kids came with a manual". I now realize they did and it is the scriptures.  I hope I can live worthy to have my family forever. I hope I always have the faith I need to understand and appreciate what has been given me. I am thankful my Father was baptised so that I may enjoy the blessings of the "Good News"
