TEAM Work!! We have all heard the 'ole adage.. there is NO I in TEAM.. isn't this true.. here is the definition & some quotes I found:
The definition of TEAM Work is: cooperative or coordinated effort on the part of a group of persons acting together as a team or in the interests of a common cause.
"Coming together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is SUCCESS"
"Together... Everyone... Achieves... More"
"Individual Commitment to a Group Effort- That is What makes A Team Work, A Company Work, A Society Work, A Civilization Work"-Vince Lombardi
"We are Not A TEAM because we WORK Together. WE ARE a team because WE RESPECT, TRUST, and CARE for each other."-@valaafshar
I love this.. In the businesses my family runs it takes a team. Even in our Family it takes a team.
Ask your self these few questions?
*What is my attitude at home?
*What is my attitude with my friends?
*What is my attitude at work?
*Am I willing to pitch in even when I am not scheduled?
*When my sister is sick, will I do her chores?
*If I have plans and see a need, what do I expect of myself?
*Who am I loyal too?
*What does TEAM Work mean to ME?
I don't think I was a very good TEAM player at home. In-fact, I would dare say, I KNOW I wasn't.. I never wanted to drive my siblings around when my mom needed me to. I didn't just do chores to help out. But I played sports and I knew what it meant to be ON a Team.
It wasn't until I had served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints that I really began to understand Team-work.. I learned that when my companion was sick, I made the phone calls even though it wasn't my job that day, it meant that I worked a little extra and helped my companion because ultimately it helped our companionship.
I love the definition above.. Team Work is Cooperative or Coordinated.. This means it can be either scheduled or spontaneous.. I love that you need to have a vision.. I love these reminders because as I write it is helping me to evaluate myself and see where I am at... I have a GOAL today to revisit the VISION my husband and I have for our FAMILY and our BUSINESS Family.. I will ask myself these questions and ponder and use my jrnl.com to write in my journal... but ask yourself these questions as well!!!
How do you be a Team Mate in your family?
Do you pick up the slack when you aren't asked too?
Do you make yourself available when someone reaches out to you and needs help?
Many people would argue that I am mostly talking about Service and I am not. I do believe Service and TEAM Work go hand in hand.
My blogs always go back to the PURPOSE of LIFE!! So What is that.. What do you contribute to your family.. What do you contribute to your job besides your scheduled work hours.. What do you contribute to your teachers.. What do you contribute to your friends..What do you contribute to God's Kingdom? YES this is your life and a best friend of my daughters has me hooked on this saying.. GO live your best life.. or I'm living my best life.. I love this because you want to live your best life.. But I would go a step further and ask.. WHO does that include.. Who are you taking on your journey while you live your best life..💗
IS IT ALL About YOU!! I don't think life is supposed to be like that.. I believe GOD sent us down here in TEAMS.. also known as FAMILIES.. some have Basketball teams.. Some have Football Teams.. Some have Tennis Teams.. But ultimately WE ARE A TEAM!!😍 I encourage you sit down with your family and discuss the way you are building your TEAM!! I have a lot of work ahead of me as I am thinking of ways to build my Family Team and our Family Business TEAM!!
John C Maxwell said, "The Truth is that Teamwork is at the heart of Great Achievement...
We all have something to achieve.. We all have something we need from someone.. and we all have something to contribute.. This week I am going to work on my efforts at being a better TEAMMATE!! We all have somewhere to start... Where you will start today? Where is your vision?
Peace & Blessings
